Underground Utilities Bid Is 25% Under Estimate

The underground utilities bid for Rocking Horse Farm 2nd Addition is 25% under the City of Fargo’s estimate. Dakota Underground came in with the lowest bid amongst five bidders.

This is great news for the 134-lot subdivision, as the estimate was based on the average of spring 2014 bids. Obviously, this should have a very positive impact on minimizing special assessments, making Rocking Horse Farm an even more attractive community for you.

The City of Fargo estimated the underground utilities at $5,926,343. Dakota Underground’s bid was $4,438,618, or a difference of $1,487,725. It’s expected construction will be initiated Wednesday, April 15.

Part of the reason for this attractive bid is that Rocking Horse Farm 2nd Addition is not within the current 100-year floodplain as of January 16, 2015. Therefore, not as much earth needs to be moved to properly construct home building sites.

We’ll keep you posted as the street construction bids are received later in May!
