It’s finally happening! Construction has begun on “Lake Fargo” or officially known as the Southwest Metro Regional Pond that will collect storm water from a massive 2,400 acre area south of 52nd Avenue, adjacent to Rocking Horse Farm. When completed, it will cover 56 acres permanently and during heavy rainfalls can cover another 108 acres. Recreational opportunities are being explored in the area, such as kayaking, canoeing, paddle boats, fishing and maybe even a swimming beach.
Below is a tentative site plan showing the location and how the recreation lake will be laid out.
