West Fargo School Board voted unanimously Monday, Oct. 23, to move forward with building its 15th elementary school. The new elementary building will be built on land West Fargo School District already owns near 52nd Avenue South, west of Veterans Boulevard in Fargo just south-west of Rocking Horse Farm.
With the south side of Fargo’s rapid growth, it is expected that the new elementary will have no problem filling capacity. The new elementary school could also help ease overcrowding at Liberty Middle School, which will be at capacity by fall 2018, as well as possibly house sixth-graders. In entirety, the new school is estimated to cost $14 million.
Construction for the new elementary school will begin this May, in anticipation for the new school to open in fall 2019.
