The West Fargo Public School District is considering the possibility of constructing a K-5 elementary school on a 10-acre parcel in Rocking Horse Farm just south of Rocking Horse Park. It's one of three options that will be considered at the school board meeting this next Monday, November 22. The other options are to expand the Independence Elementary School campus or add on to both the Freedom Elementary and Independence Elementary schools. Should the RHF option be selected, construction would start in spring 2022 with a completion target of August 2023.
We are very excited about Rocking Horse Farm being one of the options considered to help alleviate overcrowding in the West Fargo School system. Should the school board select RHF as the preferred option, it will become another meaningful, attractive RHF amenity. Not only will it be very convenient for RHF families with elementary-age children, but having an elementary school in the neighborhood historically enhances home values. It will help make Rocking Horse Farm a true community where one can "live, learn, work and play."
